The first step for this project was to research existing events that we wanted to design for. We were free to choose any event we liked, be it an event about music, technology or else. What we were to consider is that it would probably be easier to redesign for acts that we feel are currently not represented as well as they could be.
Our research led us to the "Night of Music", an annual music event near Stuttgart. At this event, various bands perform for audiences with a wide age spectrum for one evening. Accordingly, we defined that the design should spark the interest of young adults as well as for older people. As the town where this event takes place is quite small, we also focused on evoking feelings of familiarity and human connection.
To capture the attention of people of all ages, we decided to use bright colours integrated in timeless minimalist shapes. To make the design feel approachable and familiar, we settled for a design that looked like it was painted by hand. Meanwhile, the warm and bright colours represented the vibrancy of an evening filled with music and connection. Lastly, we created a draft as to how the social media representation and website should look like.
